New mixed-use urban development
Situated in the mountains of northern Italy, the project revitalizes an area that was once used for heavy industrial manufacturing through the urban planning and design of public spaces, a pedestrian underpass, and buildings for residences, shops and offices. The reorganization of the urban elements erects a new spine in the layout of the lower valley, with a particular focus on the quality of public spaces with a detailed organization of squares and routes.
The integration of a mid-sized commercial complex aims to revive the commercial character of the city, while the ‘Piazza Est’ public crossing adds a new urban node where people can meet and interact.
