Located in the heart of one of Taipei’s fastest-developing urban areas, The Sky Taipei stands as the second tallest building in both the city and its Xinyi Special District, asserting itself as a new civic landmark and a high-profile destination on the global map.
Conceived as a vertical composition of public and private realms, the tower incorporates an abundant variety of functions: two luxury hotels rise above a dynamic base that houses retail, restaurants and a cultural performance centre. The building creates a multi-layered experience that activates the city at different scales, from the pedestrian level to the skyline.
The architectural language draws inspiration from both the Eastern and Western traditions. With its curved silhouette, pleated façade and nuanced green hue, the tower reinterprets both the natural form of bamboo shoots and the fluted geometry of Classical Greek columns. This synthesis generates a luminous, vegetal surface that responds to light throughout the day: an elegant skin that both reflects and animates the urban context.
